Cookie policy
Last updated: 2026-09-29
Invoice Creator uses as little browser storage as possible. Everything listed below is needed to make the product work, and none of it is used for advertising, profiling or following you across other websites. This policy covers cookies and the equivalent techniques: local storage, session storage and similar identifiers.
1. What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser and reads back on your next visit. Local storage and session storage do much the same thing, but the data stays in your browser and is not sent with every request. We use both, and we treat them under the same rules.
2. Strictly necessary storage
These are required for the service to function. Under European rules (the ePrivacy Directive, implemented in the Netherlands in the Telecommunications Act) they do not need your prior consent, and they cannot be switched off while you use the service.
| Name | Purpose | Type and lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| sb-…-auth-token | Keeps you signed in to your workspace and refreshes your session securely. | Cookie and local storage, up to 30 days or until you sign out |
| invoice-creator-draft | Holds the invoice you are writing in the free creator so a refresh or a closed tab does not lose your work. It never leaves your device. | Local storage, until you clear it |
| locale | Remembers your interface language across the seven languages we support. | Local storage, 12 months |
| invoice-locale | Remembers the language you last chose for invoices, separate from the interface. | Local storage, 12 months |
| theme | Remembers whether you prefer the light or dark appearance. | Local storage, 12 months |
| cookie-notice | Remembers your cookie choice (only necessary, or analytics allowed). | Local storage, 12 months |
3. Security and payment storage
When you open a checkout page, the customer portal or a payment link, Stripe sets its own strictly necessary cookies to run the payment securely and to detect fraud. These are set by Stripe on Stripe's pages, under Stripe's own cookie policy, and are required for card payments to work at all.
4. Optional analytics, advertising and tracking
We load no advertising pixel, no social media tracker, no Google Analytics and no cross-site profiling anywhere in Invoice Creator, and we never share browsing behaviour.
Only if you choose "Allow analytics" in the cookie notice, we store a random visitor code (ic-visitor, local storage, until you clear it or withdraw consent) and count a few product milestones at most once per day: opening the free invoice creator, starting an invoice, generating a PDF, starting a download, clicking the Pro invitation, signing up and using the signed-in app. When you are signed in, these milestones are linked to your account so we can understand which features are used. We never record invoice contents, customer or business names, addresses, amounts or PDF files. If you choose "Only necessary", nothing is counted and every function keeps working exactly the same.
5. Your choices
- You can delete cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings. This signs you out, clears any free invoice draft and resets your language and appearance.
- You can block cookies entirely, but then signing in will not work, because your session cannot be kept.
- In private or incognito mode everything listed here is discarded when you close the window.
Most browsers let you manage this under Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and site data.
6. Mobile app
In the Android and iOS versions the same information is stored in the app's own secure storage rather than in browser cookies. Uninstalling the app removes it. Sign-in and payment steps open in your system browser, where the cookies above apply as normal.
7. Changes and contact
If the storage we use changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions about this policy: info@invoice-creator.net, A² Solutions, Oosterhesselenstraat 339, 2545 SW Den Haag, The Netherlands.
